Elbit Systems UK bolsters its position as a leading provider of night vision capabilities to UK Defence

29 January 2025

London, 29th January 2025 – Instro, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems UK, won a contract uplift in October 2024 to provide additional XACT nv33 compact Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) to the British Armed Forces. The contract solidifies the business as a leading provider of NVGs to the British Armed Forces.

The contract, worth £16 million, will see a phased rollout of the systems to the British Armed Forces. Instro has already delivered over 3,500 NVGs to the UK Armed Forces, demonstrating the success of Elbit Systems UK’s investment into the Electro-Optic Centre of Excellence in Kent.

Well-equipped troops with NVGs are essential for the UK Armed Forces to keep up with operational effectiveness. The XACT nv33 allows British Armed Forces personnel to effectively operate in low and no-light situations, giving our troops the operational advantage.

As the Electro-Optic Centre of Excellence, Instro’s facility in Kent is responsible for the manufacturing of NVG systems beyond the UK market, including countries across Europe. The business’ long running supply to the UK MoD further evidences Elbit Systems UK as a trusted and reliable provider to UK Defence.

Our success in supplying NVGs to the UK Armed Forces is a direct result of the investment we have made here in the UK. We are committed to providing our troops with the most advanced equipment to ensure they have operational advantage.
